The City of Sedona has cancelled most of their 4th of July 2020 events this year due to COVID-19. Sedona’s main event is the 4th of July Wet Fest which is held at the community swimming pool. Hundreds of people usually attend to swim, eat hotdogs and celebrate the holiday, but this year it is cancelled. Sedona hasn’t had a fireworks display in years. If you want to see fireworks, Cottonwood has a great aerial display at 8:45pm. The Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza is held annually and is in their 21st year. Fireworks are shot off from the Cottonwood Kids Park located at the Verde Valley Fairgrounds. Due to COVID-19 limitations, they will have a drive-in experience with social distancing and face masks. Gates open at about 7pm. However, the fireworks can be seen from all over town. So pack up the kids and head to Cottonwood to celebrate Independence Day!
