Oak Creek in Sedona, Arizona – Flooding March 2023
On March 15, 2023, the Oak Creek in Sedona, Arizona was running high. A rainstorm caused record snow levels to melt at higher altitudes in Northern Arizona. At 5:00pm, the water level was at 9 feet at the Tlaquepaque Bridge, located on State Route 179 in near Uptown Sedona. The water level was expected to reach 13 feet overnight. Flood evacuations were ordered for residents along the creek in Sedona, Cornville and other low laying areas.
Minor flooding of Oak Creek at the Tlaquepaque Bridge monitoring site occurs at 14 feet. In contrast, minor flooding at Oak Creek in the Cornville area occurs at 8 feet.
