Sedona Packing List
What to Pack for your Sedona Vacation
You have planned the perfect Sedona vacation and now it is time to check your packing list. What should you pack? Sedona has four seasons and depending on the time of year you plan to visit; you will need the same basic clothing and hiking gear to make your trip great. Let’s start with the basics.
What to pack for each season?
In Sedona, it is possible to experience all four seasons in one day. You will find that it is cold in the mornings, warm or hot in the afternoons and cooler in the evenings. Another example is that it could be sunny in the morning, raining or snowing by midday and hot in the afternoon. You will want to be ready for anything.
It is a great idea to dress in layers. Layers are a great way to stay warm. As the temperature rises, you can shed your layers. You will want to pack t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, sweatshirts and jackets. If you are hiking, you’ll most likely shed a heavy jacket or puffy coat quickly.
It is best to wear long pants during your hikes to avoid getting scratched, bruised or sunburned. However, most people find it more comfortable to wear shorts. Hiking boots or shoes with a good tread will really make a difference when climbing rocks or hiking on the trails. For hiking adventures, you will need plenty of water, snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat.
Other items for your packing list
Other things to bring include a first aid kit. It is common to skin knees or get scraped by rocks and trees or poked by a cactus. A first aid kit will come in handy when you need a bandage or a wrap for a sprained ankle. It is also a good idea to keep an external battery charger for your cell phone. If you are using Sedona hiking apps, just remember that apps will drain your battery quickly, so be prepared.
You will want to pack some nice clothes if you plan to eat at some nice Sedona restaurants. Most restaurants have a casual dress code, but you will find a few that require you to wear something besides your hiking clothes.
